More than 50 million people provide care for a
chronically ill,
disabled or aged family member or friend during any given year
Group
Respite
Respite-“an
interval of relief.”
Are you caring for an
older adult?
Could you benefit by having some time for yourself?
Do you know others who could benefit from attending the Group Respite
program at The Life Center?
What is Group Respite?
Group
Respite provides temporary relief for caregivers on Tuesdays and Thursdays
from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm. This unique opportunity allows the caregiver
to run errands, meet personal needs, etc. while the participant enjoys
a variety of activities and a nutritious lunch and snack at The Life
Center. For enrollment information, please call The Life Center at
249-2155.
Why refer clients
to the Group Respite program?
Security – The program
provides a safe, secure setting where a person is free to wander and
explore his/her surroundings.
Stimulation – Caregivers are often too busy with caregiving
tasks and have little time left for activities.
Independence – The program provides safety and comfort in a
home-like place to socialize and visit in an atmosphere that offers
unconditional acceptance.
Respite – Even the most dedicated caregiver needs time away
from loved ones. The Group Respite program provides daily care two
days a week. Should you need additional days/hours, please inquire
at The Life Center.
According to The American
Alzheimer’s Association, studies show that the use of adult
day care can delay nursing home placement.
The Group Respite Program
at The Life Center Provides:
• Supervised daytime care (10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.) on Tuesday
and Thursday in a safe, secure home-like setting by trained professional
staff.
• Nutritious meal and snack.
• Socialization with seniors and others.
